Bed-side table
Solid walnut
Build
Solid walnut, Danish oil, wipe-on poly, and wax finish.
Design
I wanted to make a little side table inspired by a rounded, 1960s futurist look. I had a large slab of solid walnut that I cut in sequence in order to wrap the grain around the top.
What went wrong?
The mortise and tenon joins in the base were difficult, and I'm not very good with a chisel yet, so I had some cracking in the mortises that need repair. Luckily, its not normally noticeable.
